FAQ

Q- Who can do yoga?

A-     Yoga is for everyone! Benefits include relaxation, balance work, flexibility, strength building, and stress relief.  Yoga can be tailored to your individual needs.

Q- What is needed to take a yoga class?

A-     Just yourself and a learning spirit.  You may want your own yoga mat in the future and a towel is always a nice addition.

Q- What should I wear?

A-     You should wear whatever you feel comfortable bending and stretching and moving in.  Yoga classes are generally practiced while barefoot, so no shoes required.

Q- Are you a certified yoga teacher?

A-     Yes, I am an experienced 500 hr certified experienced yoga teacher registered with Yoga Alliance.  My original 200 hr yoga training included vinyasa flow, yin yoga,  Ashtanga yoga, and hot yoga.  My additional 300 hr training added chair yoga, restorative, prenatal, trauma informed, adaptive yoga, and yoga nidra.  I also have additional training specific to those with medical issues including breast cancer through the Christina Phipps Foundation, seniors, and others with mobility issues.  Check out the Yoga Options page for more information!

Q-What classes are good for beginners?

A-     Restorative, yin, or a beginner hatha flow class is a great place to start.  In all classes just be where you are and have fun!

Q-Where do you teach?

A-      I have a dedicated space for private yoga sessions and Reiki in The Parks at Olmsted in Newnan, Georgia, as well as a garden space for outdoor yoga.  I also host Zoom yoga sessions (private sessions and corporate yoga) from this space.  I am available to travel to a location of your choice.

Q-What should I expect at my Reiki session?

A-    A Reiki session is tailored to the needs of each client. A typical Reiki session is an hour in duration. You will complete a brief form, then discuss your healing goals.  You will relax fully clothed on a Reiki (massage) table.  With closed eyes and soft background music, you can relax into a receptive or meditative state.  To channel the Reiki energy, the Reiki Practitioner may gently lay healing hands on (or hover above) areas of the body, especially on chakra points (crown, brow, throat, heart, solar plexus, sacral, root) or on areas that are in need of concentrated energies. When the session is complete, the Reiki Practitioner will bring you back from your relaxed state and the two of you will discuss your experiences or sensations and your longer term healing goals.
